Hey all,

Looking for a gray FRN Calypso Jr. from the latest run. Besides keeping an eye out on the BF classifieds and ebay, does anyone know of a particular retail outlet currently offering them for sale.

Regards,

Scot

Hey guys,

I got mine on last Friday, and its awsome, dont hesitate to get one!
its scary sharp out of the box

Enkidu,

Thanks. I was just looking on New Grahams main Spyderco page and it said they were out of stock. I will check with them to see if they do indeed have them.

My question has probably come up before, and I may have even asked it - not sure. Anyway, can someone explain the reasons why I might prefer a Calypso Jr. to my 2 year old EDC Delica? They seem almost exactly the same to me, except for a minor difference in blade length, color, tip up vs. tip down (I prefer the Delica's tip up anyway).

The grind and blade geometry make the Calypso Jr. the perfect slicer! Also you have the coil for better control, and added safety when closing.

Don't forget the nifty fish-scale texture on the handle.

Seriously though, the blade is what makes this one, like Slvgx said.

I just completed a trade with a valued Spyder-brother. I got an older AUS-8 stainless handled Calypso Jr. It is the one without the Boye dent. I have been collecting Spydies for quite a while now but until now I had never seen this variety of the Calypso Jr. Do any of you know the particulars about this variation of this fine classic? :)

I also bought a Gray Calypso Jr. as well. If it was not so pretty I would be carrying it every day. It is the finest Spyder I own with a FRN handle. This belongs in the Gallery/hall of fame for sure. :)

i also got my filthy mitts on a grey Calypso Jr. -- it is awesome. i can't even use it, it's too nice! i'll have to pick up a second one.

the texturing on this one is nothing short of amazing. somehow, it seems nicer than FRN; certainly nicer than any other FRN model i've ever handled.

I scored two on ebay with a meerkat all for about $80 shipped. So I had one to carry and one to save. I liked it so much, I gave the drawer queen to my brother. Still looking for one for the drawer. Flames-N-Knives has them for about $34 BIN + shipping on ebay. Carry and use that Caly!
I can't wait for the ZDP version. I'll have to buy three of those :D .
