Im a long time spyderco collector. Been lurkin around these forums for a long time, never really post, just absorb the info all you pros out there have to offer. I just thought you guys would like this story. As you all know Sw florida was rocked by a nasty huuricane this past week. My family and I were right in the middle of it. Luckily no damage to our home.Anyway red cross was collecting items at our local mall, like batteries, water, flashlights and stuff like that. So we went out to the store and purchased what we could afford to donate. When we got to the mall one of the red croos volunteers was cutting open boxes to sort the supplies. He was using like a 5$ slipjoint and seemed to be having problems.Just happened to be carrying my calypso junior fresh off the 204. Ijust looked at him and told him to give this a shot. He made one cut, looked up at me and smiled. He went to hand it back but I told him to keep it. He seemed really grateful and it made me feel good. I know it wasnt much but sometimes its the little things that matter. sorry that took so long. Thanks

Nice gesture! (same with the Dodo to an Easter Islander) Should have told him to join BF too!

Hey, I hope all is well for you in Naples, I know you'll got what was projected to hit us up here in the Tampa area. I thank God for it not coming here...but I'm heavy hearted for my fellow Floridians to the south and east. :( I think if Charley continued on the path it was headed it would have been a lot worse here. If it jumped from a Cat. 2 to a 4...it most likely would have been a Cat. 5 here and was projected to hit at high tide up the bay too. I know its bad there and something like that would have really been worse up here. I've never seen a hurricane cross a larger land mass and not break up and that storm when into the Carolinas as a Cat. 2! By the way, I think that was a great gesture for you to part with your Spyderco. If you can let me know what your mailing address is down there in Naples. Anyhow, thanks for sharing your story with us. :)

thanks guys, I just hope I didnt start a long road of spyderco addiction for the poor guy. Ya know ther should be a surgeon generals warning on every spyderco box! Take care.

Yeah, the poor bugger is probably happily married, with plenty of money in the bank and a nice house. In a few years he'll be living in a tent, laughing like a loon and drooling over a huge collection of spydies.

There's something wrong with that?

Great gesture. Glad you are OK after the hurricane. My grandpa used to live in naples so I am somewhat familiar with the area. Whereabouts in naples are you?

Very generous gesture ChrisARC. 'tis a big heart that puts another before oneself.
