Is there any update on the forthcoming limited run of grey FRN, plain edged, VG10 Calypso Jrs?

Please let us have all the info you can on this Xmas is comeing up and if there is any chance of them being ready by then a couple will be Xmas gifts.I know for my self those gifts will be bought soon unless I hear that they will be out by Xmas.
 
Anyone got an old new or used Calypso jr. they want to sell?
Where was I when they came and went?

mtrialsm, I picked up one in stainless from John F Jensen a few weeks back, believe they still have some. The FRN ones are a bit harder to find in PE, but some do show up on eBay and here in the Knife Exchange section of BF too. If you want one in micarta, they are harder yet to find, and you "might" have to outbid me to get one. :D

I think D2 was a rumor. In this thread, Sal asked about possible D2 models, and the Calypso was a popular suggestion. He never commented whether Spyderco decided to go through with any D2 project, though. If Sal was thinking about buying some of the D2 that Jerry Busse had for sale, it's possible that the thickness that would've been useful for most of Spyderco's line was purchased by Swamprat for their new D2 line.

Nearly had a heart-attack when I saw this thread and thought that a resurrected Calypso was forthcoming!
 
I can give you an update, but at this time I do not have a date. My guess is 60 days. The results of this test run will let us know where we want to go with the design. Maybe a short run each year with a different color handle? It's a common EDC for me and Gail carries one all of the time.
