I've heard rumors that there is / will be a Calypso sprint run soon.

Anyone else heard that yet?

I'm assuming you're talking about the full-size model as there's no junior in your post. If that's true it's already been released.

A Caly Jr. sprint run is supposed to be in the works for this year. I've heard a couple of different stories about steel and scale materials.

I went back and forth with this particular sprint run, but in the end felt that it was just too big for my edc use (and eventually chose Caly 3 SB). Still liking it a lot though, it's long and leak like a leopard :)

What's a thread without pics!

I love carrying mine. It does have a 4 in blade but its really thin both width (think the back spring) and across the knife itself (like if its laying flat on a table, the top and bottom). !!!

Anyone know how large a run was produced? Sprint runs can vary in number, can't they?

They can, indeed. The number for this one was 1200 pieces. Ironic, since the there were only 600 PE and 600 SE of the original model made.

Wow. I didn't realize that the regular production run was this small. The original had micarta scales, correct?

I know I'm gonna regret it when this thing is gone, but between the brown G10 (which I don't care for all too much) and the fact that the Chokwe is quickly disappearing (I've been meaning to put my order in already) I can't bring myself to click "Add to Cart". I guess there are worse problems to have but dang, that near 4" blade is gorgeous.

I hope Jr. shows up as he has been away for a while.Looks like dad is back from vacation and he has a good tan.....Must be some good DNA in the bloodline....

Someone please tell me the difference vs. the Endura? I really can't figure it out. I love the look, but almost identical to me when looking at the G10 Endura.

That is correct.

The handle shape is different, as is the blade thickness and shape. The Endura does not have the finger choil of the Calypso, has a thicker blade with a squared spine instead of the full-length swedge of the C54, and it has the "reinforced point" which the Calypso thankfully lacks.
