Calypso?

I lost my Calypso :grumpy: and need a new EDC.

I wanted another Calypso, but the only thing Spyderco sells these days is the Caly3 with the G-10 handles. Yuk. The FRN handle was awesome. And I only paid about $45 for it. The new Caly3 lists for $175! Does Spydie make another knife like the old Caly? FRN handle, flat ground blade (this is very important to me), and not outrageously priced?

FRN handle and flat ground blade, not outrageously priced? The new Stretch or Delica, Stretch available at around 80 for FRN and VG10, 100 for ZDP.

The Caly 3 shouldn't cost you that much. Cutleryshoppe has the ZDP/CF version for 107, and I've seen a Caly 3 G10/VG10 go for 75 on the Exchange.

Does the Stretch have a slight recurve? It's hard to tell from the pics at Spyderco.com.

How about the new FFG Delica's and Endura's? Around 55-65 if you look around. FRN in a bunch of different colors now, too.

No, there is no recurve. The edge is straight from the kick to the beginning of the curve.

I highly recommend the Stretch. It's a really great knife. I prefer the full flat ground blade of the Stretch over the saber ground blades of the Delica/Endura. I prefer the size of the Stretch over the sizes of the Delcia/Endura as well.

No, it has straight edge. The knife is slim and light, good EDC.

I would keep an eye in the Trade/Sale forum. They come for there time to time...

The Jr is an amazing knife and replacing it with anything else would be disappointing in my book.
