Seems to be many of these Jet Pilot commemoratives around, and just when I think I got one of each, I find another. This one has Top Gun on it, and the etch is of an Aircraft carrier. On the back is a list of all the US carriers I suppose when the knife was made. It's number 1018 of 1750 made. Aluminum guard and hex-shaped pommel. And unusual... has what I am assuming to be a past owners initials engraved (not stamped or etched, but engraved, as in a jewerly store): GJS

Any help, history, dates, who the seller was (I am assuming Camillus made these for someone else to sell, as was often the case) appreciated. And Tom, does Camillus still do this with these Jet Pilots (make these kinda special issues for anyone under contract?.

Thanks,

Phil,
I will be visiting the Camillus factory next week and I will get you information about your knife.

Phil,
Your Pilot Survival knife was a special edition that was made for Sportsman's Guide. This knife is a model #SGM602 that has a stainless steel blade, guard and butt. Camillus produced these knives during the 1990's.

Yes, Stainless not aluminun. Tom, thanks very much for the info, we regulars and the new people with questions of their Camillus products to appreciate your efforts.
