Camco Bail pin?

I picked up an old Camco, the steel is in decent shape, the scales are gone completely.
I'm curious as to what to do about the bail pin? its not just a straight pin, it has a shoulder on it so the bail freely moves. Any input? kind of looks like a barbell.

You can just cut one end off, and slide the pin out.

I’ll look again this evening, but the existing pin appears to have a shoulder.
Maybe it’s a washer? Between the bolster and the bail, so it doesn’t bind?
