Here's the story. I have no reason to doubt it. Got these three from a gentlemen whose father was the personal physician for Camillus Cutlery. He also operated Rail City museum and his home/office was across from the Camillus factory. He had these and other knives made as there was an amicable relationship between the two ventures which, sadly, no longer exist. The knives are pretty much flawless.

I had quite a long email dialogue with the man I purchased the knives from. Very interesting history and a real gentleman to boot.

Wayyy Cool Dan! I especially like the "Rocket Ship"! :D
My family's business in Buffalo, an hour and a half away, had Camillus make some advertising knives also! Probably in a similar era.

Yep...I can just see Dan...sitting cross-legged in the lounge making his rocket ship noises :D
The advertising knives are pretty neat there Dan! thank you for showing us my friend!

I have wanted the rocket ship for a LONG time. And you are dead right. Like a kid in a candy store. ;)

And nice F&F on all three, too!

Those look great! I always find the old advertising knives interesting and those look like new. It seems like most of the vintage ones you see for sale have considerable scale shrinkage or the blades are in terrible shape.

Every time I look at some it makes me wish that companies still did that today. I guess it's not as practical as it used to be.:grumpy:

Those are cool the rocket makes a pretty unique shield. Never seen a rocket shield before. Thanks for posting these. Along with Charlies old Camilus they are a little sad in that they are not around any more.

Thanks for posting those LKJW. I'm digging the rimfire shields.

Thanks y'all. Amazing the quality of the knives considering they were for kids. A lot were lost to mumblety-peg I would imagine.

Kind of like TL-29's for kids. :)

Is it like a siren sound? With a "spinning" part inside??

Yeah, I had seen the ad, should have thrown it up. And yeah, exactly, spinning metal whirring sound like those old carnival toys. :)
