Camco USA Barlow spring issue

Hello!

I just bought a camco barlow for €25 but after delivery i found that the spring of the main blade wasnt moving/working properly.

Still after cleaning and oiling it doesn't work properly, although it is definitely moving.
It doesn't lock the main blade unlike the pen blade wich has a very strong snap and lock up.

Any thoughts on how to fix this issue?

Just to add: the rotating part of the blade that touches the spring is completely round, unlike the base of the pen blade wich is squared off.

The spring was tempered harder than the blade tang, and wore it down!! Requires a new blade I am afraid!!

Sadly these gents are probably correct.
Lack of lube (oil) an the joint wore out both spring and tang.
(I have little doubt there is a divot in the spring where it contacts the tang, to go with the worn tang. You can't see it with the blade in place.) ☹️
I had a 1920's ~1930's Schrade Boy's Knife (missing bail and chain long before I got it) with the same issue. Open the main blade, spring did not move. It was effectively a friction folder for that blade.

On the "Plus Side" Since the blade is still held closed, and does not flop 1/2 closed when open, it is still useable. 😊
