Howdy Folks,

I came across a couple Ruana knives from 1985 and 1988, (purchase dates), that I bought at an Estate Sale and can't seem to find any information on them..

One..is actually two of the same knife. they are the 1988, 50A, 50th Anniversary knives made by Vic Hangas, which have Bighorn sheep handles and custom fit leather sheath with "Ruana" on it as well. they are numbered and come with Cert. of Auth. #'s 31/100 and #32/100.
they have about 23/4" blade and oal is approx. 61/4".

The other one was purchased in 1985, is a Ruana 95TP, 41/4" blade x oal is approx. 81/2"

All are in NEW CONDITION. I couldn't figure out how to attach photos so if you want to see them, I can email photos or learn how to do it here.. lol

Thanks for the help folks
Frank

Hi Ruana knives have their own web site with all the info you need . google and you shall find .
P's welcome to the forum :)

I've never seen the 50th anniversary knife for sale before. I'd ask them for specifics -

http://www.ruanaknives.com .

The 95TP was their Trailing Point model that was discontinued around a decade or so ago. Nice little knife, it has a tiny bit of a cult following with Ruana users, and commands a tiny bit of a premium usually with them.

I can't understand what information your looking for? Seems like you know exactly what you have...

Btw... I love and use all my Ruanas ... Not sure what I'd do with the fiftieth anniversary knives. At a recent gun show I saw one with a $2000 tag on it, but no one was looking twice. I actually laughed out loud when I flipped over an M stamp model and saw a $900 price tag. I could've done a buy it now on eBay from a reputable seller for almost half the price for a knive in more original condition. In fact all Ruanas I saw at the show were way, WAY over priced as compared to what they are going for online. Probably why I have seen the same sellers with the same knives for the past two years 😂

Vic and sons make great knives and are well worth the money, but the ones appreciating in value for the collectors market are 1983 and before when Rudy was alive and involved in running the shop. Granted you'll see some post 1984 Ruanas selling for more than what you could just order them for, but that because people love the name and I believe there is longer than a six month waiting list to get one today straight from them.
