I lost my 112 several years ago, and have been tossing around the idea of replacing it for a good while now, either with another 112 or a similar model.
I ended up getting lucky the other day when in a local gun shop/pawn shop when I saw what I thought was a 110 that was a little used in the case, so I took a look at it even though the 110 was not a model I really like because it is so large and it ended up being a nearly brand new 112 that just had some patina on the brass. So i bought it for next to nothing and took it home and cleaned it up! It locks up like a bank vault and cleaned up great with a little mag wheel polish. The sheath is even still like new. I was very surprised when I looked at the tang stamp and saw it was 26 years old haha

90's is not vintage, but 60's yes.

Nice find. I love going to shops like that and digging around for that reason.

90s might not seem vintage to a lot of us but you have to face the reality that it is now. 25 years from now I bet people will say Buck's made mid 2000s are vintage. Great looking knife by the way.

Welcome buffalo. Your 112 is a 1992 mfg. knife. So, like 27 years ago. A good find. The steel could be either 425M or 420hc as that year Buck
phased in the latter steel. The handles are solid macassar ebony. As the switch to a laminate wood was 2 years later. Making it a great find.
A sheath in good condition as well and close enough to be correct for that year. DM

Nice Knife!! If you want to clean it up, send it to Buck it'll come back looking like new...

I didn't know they did that, recently found my dad's old 112 and the maker marks indicated it was made late 70's. The brass on it is pretty much green and it needs some love. I could do it, but I like the idea of sending it to the maker. I'll post before and after pics when I get it back.

I highly recommend it. I've sent many knives for spa treatment and came back looking like new.

Make sure you download and fill out the warranty repair form for the SPA treatment...It makes things a lot easier for the factory...
