I've been interested in this bag for a while. Naturally, I tried to do some research on it. If anyone else has done the same, you'll find that almost all the pictures of this bag posted in review threads all over the internet have been taken down due to photobucket or imageshack. So I wanted to post some pictures for anyone that was in my shoes.

Compared to a 10x5 Bottle Holder.

the new goggle pouch, I'm not really feeling the felt, but it's not too bad.

the front compartment.

fits a nested guyot no problem.

mre.jpg

also fits a full MRE. I didn't think it would fit, but it fit perfectly.

I bought this bag to use as a travel bag and i wanted to see how many clothes i could fit into it.

so we have 3 pairs of pants, two pairs of underwear, two wool sweaters, one long sleeved tshirt, one shorts sleeved tshirt, a bandana, and an extra pair of wool socks. Not really what i'd take, i just grabbed whatever i could find quickly.

mainfilled.jpg

tight squeeze, but thanks to the compression straps, fit perfectly.

phew. i think that's it. I haven't really had enough time with it to actually do a review, i just wanted to get some pictures up.

thanks for looking!

I have a Motherlode and I love it. I like how that one zips all the way open. Awesome pack.

Thanks for the pics! I couldn't find many good pics either when I took a gander at this pack. I was going to ask if a guyot and cup will fit in the side pockets, so right on  Looks like there's room to spare too.

How do you like the military bladder. I wasn't a fan of the one that came with my HAWG. The hydrolock system is great, but it doesn't let you clean the tube with a brush (at least as far as I know, I didn't want to just rip it apart), and I hated how air would leak in as I drank. Maybe I just got a crappy one from the factory though.

I'm liking all the nooks and crannies in this pack :) What sort of use are you planning for it? Weekenders? Do you have any on-back pics?

Great photos, thanks. I've been looking at one myself for a while. It's even in my colour!

I would be interested to hear how you find it with a full (3l, 100oz) water bladder in the bladder sleeve.

I bought a MaxP Vulture II but with a full water bladder, it pushes the back out. Feels like trying to wear a barrel with shoulder straps. I had to fit a wooden board (actually an Epicurean kitchen board) into the bladder pouch between the bladder and the back of the sack, to keep the back flat. That made it at least usable but it's hardly ideal, unless I happen to need a big cutting board while out, lol.

I was initially looking at the motherlode (in fact, i was supposed to PM you about it. haha) but i decided the extra pouches on the BFM would suit me better.

I'll have to get back to you on the bladder. I'm really enjoying the bite cover,as my bladder on my apline explorer gets all grimey real quick with it being rubbed up on everything. I initially got this bag to use as a overnight/day pack, hopefully i don't find that its too big for that application. I'll try to grab some on back photos when my girlfriend gets home.

Luckily the BFM has a really rigid frame sheet in the hydration bladder compartment, so a full bladder will push itself into the bag rather than into your back. Good idea with the kitchen board though! haha

That's exactly what I needed to know, thanks very much. Now I just need to source one at a good price in the UK...

Cheers!

Nice lookin bag... good size and lots of pockets, too... The only thing that worries me is the centralized port for the bladder tube. Does that rub on the back of your neck/head at all? Are there multiple tube exit ports, or just the one?

just the one exit port. there's a lot of tube showing, that's because its an extra long tube that's made to go under your arm if you want it too. i just push the excess tube into the compartment and it's out of the way and just rides along your shoulder. I haven't taken this bag on a hike yet, but my other camelbak apline explorer is the same way and i've taken it on numerous hikes. doesn't bother you at all.

Yeah if you can afford it that pack is an upgrade over the motherlode with the side compartments and the full zip opening. Very nice!

that's a nice looking pack. I'd love for them to make one like that, but incorporate the hidden compartment for a concealed carry piece like they do on their Demon model.

Yes, the bite cover is key. I put bite covers on all my standard bladders. I had the Alpine Explorer a while ago; that was a good pack too .

I got the HAWG for a daypack, and I think it's just right in that role for my uses. But I'm looking to get something for overnighters/weekend and this one looks pretty good  Size specs, for others: 3142 in^3 (51.48L). Does the BFM have straps on the bottom of the pack, or does it just have webbing anchors (what I have on my HAWG)?

Good to know it has a rigid frame sheet too .

Looks great awad! I was wondering if you could show how it looks loaded when wore on your back, just to get an idea of size and everything...

This might be the one for me. Three day you think? Best place to get one?

Hope it's not deal spotting(I'll delete if it is),but I haven't heard a bad thing about SKDTac. I haven't actually done business with them, but I've sent a couple emails regarding product inventory, and replies were always within a day. I'll be picking up a HAWG within a couple weeks or so, and possibly eventually a BFM now too;)

Great photos! Very helpful! Now I am not just caught stuck inbetween a possible ESEE bag, and a maxped bag, now this one...thanks ;)
