Camelthorn Wood - A Very Cool Inlay

The Mnandi is fantastic with any wood inlay, but there is something special about Camel Thorn. The checkered patterns and swirls within the rich brown / tan background have a lot of character. One of my favorite inlays by far. The fact that Camel Thorn was a one time inlay (AFAIK) does not hurt the cool factor. If you ever get a chance to own a Mnandi inlaid with Camel Thorn, you will be happy with it.

Not my picture, but it is now my knife:

My going-out-of-business sale Mnandi was Camelthorn...had no choice. Opened it up and really was impressed. I loved the sort of aged grain look.

Camel thorn is a wood with great character, here is some of the average thorn sizes, I cant find the other picture I have but they can get up to the size of a nr 12/13 size boot if they are old enough. (this is a large Insingo)

Geode, I ended up buying a used one and I couldn't agree more, lots of character.
It appears in the photo as if it would feel really scratchy, but it's very smooth:

I totally agree, here's my version of it. Nice score Geode

I've posted photos of this one a few places now, but don't think I'll hear any complaints if I contribute to this thread :)

I just nabbed this one. The color is much more rich/red than what is shown in Geode's or Lisa's photos. I wonder if that's due to lack of use. The scratchy brown looks great - hopefully mine will develop similar character after some pocket time. Have you carried yours much, Dino? Yours seems to have the same reddish hue as mine.
