Camilius Dominator S30V.

the robo gives quite a kick. may be controversial in areas where authorities frown on autos. but I think it's well worth the money.

Dalko, the Dominator is a good knife at a decent price. Whether it's a good buy also depends on the use you have in mind. It is big, and designed primarily for tactical situations -- law enforcement, survival, harsh enviroments. It might be out of place in an office.

The Dominator is a great bang-for-the-buck knife, Ti framelock and S30V, for around $135 on Ebay. If you get lucky, a couple have traded hands on the forums recently for $75 - $90, making a good value even better.

:D The Dominator is my smallest EDC, I never thought of it as a big knife :p

Thank you guys for your opinions.

I think I'll go for it, I really like the way it looks.

I've had an eye on it for a while but wasn't sure of the quality since it is fairly low priced compared to some others that also have Ti framlock + S30V blade.

Anyway, I don't use folder in a hard manner, probably that every so-called tactical folder is robust enough for me.

Thanks!

I must agree with Klesk.
I was a bit dissapointed by the small size of the knife when I opened the UPS package. With a name like "Dominator", I thought it was gonna be in the large size category. It now sits in my collection and is fun to play with.

Dominator is a great knife.

I have found that it has become my primary go to knife when working in the shop. The flipper is extremely handy, lockup is Sebenza solid with no movement in the lock bar no matter how hard I cut. It's been worn dull and resharpened about 5 times so it definitely has seen some use and is as good as it was the day I got it. I've even used the butt as a hammer in a pinch or two.

I primarily like Axis and lockback's in my tactical/hard use utility knives and this is the only piece I own that's a frame lock or liner lock. I took it in on a partial trade a while ago with the plan to sell it off and it's never crossed my mind to let it go since I opened the box.

One of the many things I like about titanium frames is that they are comparatively easy to dress up via anodizing. Take a look at the job that Charles Gedraitis did on mine...

It won't quite pass for a gentlemen's knife, but it is pretty enough to look a lot less threatening than the plain grey metal did.

The handle is titanium, so you don't even have to anodize it to get it to color. Remove all the parts, blade, robo, etc. and place the titanium under a butane torch and evenly coat it with heat - that will get you a very colorful handle. Just don't go too crazy with the heat and it should be OK.

What Bquinlan had done is heat anodizing, the gold part in the center is where the flame was set and the blue edges are where it did not get as hot.

You also have to be very careful doing the lock side. Screw up the hardness on your detent ball and a trip back to Camillus will be in order fairly quick. Most guys use a heat absorbing paste to prevent this.
