I just bought a Colonial rigging knife. Looks identical to the Camillus 697. I have no idea when it was made. Did Camillus make these for Colonial?

I've got quite a few Colonial's from the 40's to the 2000's
and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Cammy was making some
for a while. I've got a newer version of Old Cutler by Colonial
that just oozes "made by Bear MGC". Being that Camillus
really was the biggest of "The Knifemaker's knifemaker"
chances are good Cammy's in on it. Hopefully Camco himself
will shed some facts into this thread.

The 697 pattern was the surprise for me. I've seen the Camillus 695 as a Buck, Ka-Bar and a Case. I've only seen the 697 as a Case from about 1980 forward. Never seen the 697 made for anyone else.
