Recently bought one of these, as I happen to like knives made in 1976 when I was born. Three blade 3 7/8" stockman with white Delrin handles, together with a commemorative medallion for both Camillus's 100th anniversary and the US Bicentennial year. No papers with it but the knife and box are in decent condition and it's just a nice thing to have.

Clip point tang is stamped 200, which I guess refers to the Bicentennial, but what I was interested in knowing is whether this is a variation of a standard model of the time period and if so, which might it be?

I've had a look around the collectors-of-camillus website and checked some of the catalogs from the ´70s. Haven't quite found a match, though. Some of the Sword Brand knives seem to have had slanted bolsters too, but of a different kind, both slanted in the same direction.

Take a look at the Buck catalog from that vintage and all will be clear!!! :D

The Bucks of course had black handles.

Ahh yes, some of the Buck pocketknives were made by and at Camillus those days? That would make this knife the same as a Buck 301 then? I thought it looked familiar somehow. Cheers Phil!

As soon as I saw the photos and before I read any other posts I said "Buck 301" to myself. I think that you have a very nice collectible knife there.

Thanks! It will have company of a 1976 Camillus MIL-K in the knife drawer.

I was a little worried about the condition of the backsprings as I have no idea if the knife has spent all 30+ years with the blades half-open in the display box. But they are ok and walk and talk is still there.

I did clean out a fair amount of gunk from the inside so I think it may have been kept somewhere else than the box. No sign of use or sharpening so maybe it's just been sitting in someone else's drawer before mine.
