Does anyone know in what year Camillus started to produce this model with a hollow ground blade? I bought a 2005 model for an old Vietnam buddy I hadn't seen since 1970. We had got together for a 35 year reunion. That particular knife had a hollow ground main blade. It seems to me I read somewhere that they started using a hollow grind in the 90's. Your help with this question will be greatly appreciated. I'd like to buy another 2005 with a hollow ground blade for myself (there was only one available at the gun/knife show when I bought my friend's knife).

Thanks,

Chuck

Several years ago someone inquired about the hollow ground blades in the model #S1760 SS knives. I was told that these blades were originally made for the Western version of the #5693 pattern. There was a shortage of blades so the Western hollow ground blades were used. Perhaps Tom Liggett or Phil Gibbs has more info on this subject.
