There were 6 people bidding on this after the price was over $200. I guess they really wanted to fill out their collections.

I do not understand this.
2-3 years ago I bought unused Camillus 1960 MIL-K knife for $57 (right in the photo).

The model year "1962" made by Camillus is one of the rarest made. The "1949" dated knife is also a tough one to find. Just about everybody that tries to collect one of each year finds that the 1962 and 1949 knives are the scarcest and the most expensive. I have seen a few examples of the Camillus 1962 dated knives but this is the first one that I have seen offered for sale. Most knife collectors that have a 1962 knife will not part with it.

I'm going to guess that after the 49 and 62 knives the 57 and 2006 are going to be the next hardest to come by.

I never looked for a 1962 (I will now! :) ). I just happened upon the one listed above as I saw he listed a couple of 2006. I have a 1957 and a 2006 and both took a lot of watching out for. In the last couple of years, I've seen 4 or 5 2006s and only one other 1957.

Seller also noted in a Q&A that he thought he had a couple of 1949s. Interesting.
