The Box says CAMILLUS Cutlery Company
Camillus, New York 13031

There is a label on one end of the box that says #51B.

Can anyone tell me about this knife ?

Thank you,

John

I'll do the best I can with this one... Your knife is a 2 blade barlow pattern, a 'working' knife, sturdy and tough. Barlows have a long history, starting with the family that made them (the Barlows) in England (they started business in about 1650, I think).

Barlows were imported to the USA as early as the time of the original 13 colonies, I understand. I'd call an original imported Barlow the 'holy grail' of pocket knives, although it would be impossible to establish any provenance.

This photo is from a 2001 Camillus catalog. The knife is not shown on the Camillus website, so I assume it is out of production. The price back then for it was $20.95.
