I think that we should all note that Camillus got somewhat slammed by the results of the 7 inch test. Yet have you seen their response? No statement that it wasn't fair to compare them with the others or that it was a knife that slipped through. No they said that they would learn from it and would build a better knife. Horrah for real men. Real men don't whine. Think I'll go buy a Camillus just to show support. Also, we all love to test for the best knife but when you think about all those guys who have depended on the old Camillus and Ka-bars in battle over many years now are they really that inferior. There are alot of older vets out there who would swear buy these old designs and many of them have alot more combat exposure than most of us.

Right on! Did I read somewhere (here?) that camillus grinds/produces for cold steel? Some times I stay at the forum 'till late at night and have BF induced nightmares...

I have to agree with you that Will Fennell's response in the MD thread was truly admirable. Is it Callimus who will make a production version of Bob-T fighter? I may consider buying one when it becomes available.

Well, it won't do so good in the comparative cutting tests, but I just got a Camillus faux tortoise shell celluloid stockman from James Mattis/Chai Cutlery yesterday.

Pretty little knife with old time 1095 steel blades.

Hard to beat for the money. And Will, and his dad, Wallace, and the whole "Camillus" family are working at bringing us some new and interesting projects to keep us happy.

I'd say that was worth the investment.

You guys got it right.

Thanks in advance, Mike. I was just thinking about that myself--how the knife probably wasn't THAT bad. All it needs is a DMT and some T.L.C.

The knife is probably like you, Mike: not bad, just misunderstood.
