Guys, I've got a little 3 blade yellow Delrin handled Camillus folder that is marked CAMILLUS on the main blade ricasso, a solid line, then NEW YORK over USA in two lines on the long pull nail nick side; 84 on the other side ricasso.

3" OAL closed w/rounded ends, the main blade is a hair under 2.25" long. The shield on the main blade side is shield shaped, the scales are held on w/three small brass pins, and the handle shape is a swell-centered coke bottle type shape; I think the pattern might be a Whittler...

It's an older knife in fairly good shape. I know it's hard to judge without photos, but with minimal original blade wear and little in the way of handle shrinkage, does this knife have any value?

I'm not up to speed on vintage Camillus knives, so would also like to know when (approximately) it was made. The other blades are unmarked.

Thanks in advance,

Shel

Hello,I can`t really tell you how much it`s worth. I have a couple of camillus knives, both are military issue. They supplied a lot of knives to the military. They also went out of business awhile back. The info on the knife your trying to find may be hard to get.

I just got some info from Tom Williams (CAMCO) in the mail yesterday.
So here is what I can tell you at the moment:
Your knife appears in some 1950s literature Tom sent.
It also appears on a 1954 price list for the price of $2.75, and then again in 1955 for the whopping sum of $3.00.
A substantial price jump in those days.

Thanks Dale, that's exactly the type of information that I was looking for!:)

If you ever have any questions about Randall Made knives, feel free to shoot me a PM or call - I'll help if I can ;)

Guys,

I put the knife up on our www.bluestarknives.com website for $38 bucks plus shipping - I'm a Randall Made knives collector that paid $20 for this fairly nice older Camillus knife some five years ago. So, if any of you Cami Knives collectors want it, feel free to make me an offer (please, without dickin' around.)

If it's worth more to you than me, then have at it - fair is as fair does, and it's a nice knife to boot with no apparent wear other than some minor staining and light sharpening ...

Shel

p.s. Mods, it wasn't my original intent to sell the knife, and I'd be perfectly happy keeping it - so, if this post is in bad form, feel free to delete it and I'll just keep the knife...no harm, no foul :)
