New to BladeForum, wanted to know if anyone knows about the Camillus single blade black metal handle lock back knife? Tang marks Camillus New York U.S.A. and 895 Patented other side? Has U.S.M.C. on one side of handle. Like if it is still being made and if not when it was made. Thanks D.R.

The 895 is not in the 2005 or 2006 dealer catalog. I have the 895 in a double lockback with dark blue checkered handles, Saw & clip blade. The knife you have could have been a contract knife. Or a gung-ho Marines handy work. Sounds like something I would do. You should see my SKS 7.62X39, the only one with an Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. I also added the synthetic stock with a pistole grip, mounted a red dot scope and ultra bright mini flash light on it. Its good to go night and day up to and including 1000 yards away. oops there I go talking about gun in a knife forum, its the devil dog in me. I'd like to see a picture of your knife.

Thanks for the reply. This is a factory knife I'm pretty sure. I ll send pics. if i can figure how to attach them.
