Does anyone know how this knife was marked?

Bladite - I have done a QUICK search of the FAQ and didn't see the info. I do not have much time right not to read them all as I have to go to work and earn money to buy knives. :D Same with a search of all forum posts. Gotta run out the door.
My apologies if this has been asked a thousand times before.

Greg

well, it wasn't marked "KaBar 2009" model :) so that's a start; should have Camillus Markings on it, but

the Camillus model has more of a stone wash appearance, iirc; the KaBar model is more mirror like

as well, the micarta for each is markedly different

hunh... i didn't know I could to that. lol :D
i was asking because there maybe was one on that auction place.
here's the link (closed listing which i'm almost certain is okay)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230497312724&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

The funny thing is (Bladite will like this), when I asked how the blade was marked the seller replied "Camillus". yeah, got that. :)
I asked a more detailed question and never heard back.

So...Any opinions on if it is an Extreme? Looks like a Grivory handled desert tan.

that's so not a BK77 extreme. it's IMHO a BK7 tan model.

we'll note it doesn't have micarta grips, but tan standard grips

it also does not have the two loop on top Eagle sheath... just a standard sheath that's been messed up with paint.

an extreme is a naked, no coating SILVER blade, but s30v steel. not "tan".

now, if someone took a BK77, put on standard handles, painted it all tan, and sold it for $85, what a deal for someone ;)

i've seen a couple extreme sell for $225, used, as bargains. $275 is as new typically, and they are rare, esp the < 300 KaBar models.
