Hi, I recently found a camillus BK10 at gun and knife show. It is in near perfect condition. It has the original sheath but no box or literature that might have come with it. I paid $60 for it. Was this a good find at this price point? Any info on the knive would be great. I will try get a picture of it posted ASAP!

Thanks, Tyler

I'd say you stole it. I value mine highly. The BK10 is one bad ass hunk of 1095.

Welcome to the forum!
Nice score on the BK10. It's a great knife!

Thanks so much for the replies! To add to my post, I live in British Columbia so that is $60 Canadian. I jumped on the purchase as soon as I noticed the knife sitting in the display case. So seeing as is is still factory sharpened with no scratches on the blade but a few rub marks, should I be locking this knife away for safe keeping and go get a knife I won't regret beating the shit out of with daily use like a BK2? Again, thank you for your feedback!

You used Canadienne money? Hell, you got it for free then.

When did Canada get its own currency?!?!?

Yes, indeed! Oil it up and lock it up!

I respectfully disagree. I have a Brute and would never think of leaving it locked up. A sharp edge working tool that you won't let do its job? Use it and enjoy it. It was meant to be used when it was made, as it is now. But then again, I don't even own a safe. I'm gonna go ahead and guess that Murph's respect comes from performance.....NOT looks.

Depends on why you're considering locking it up & keeping it nice. I recently acquired a Camillus BK10 for a comparable price. To be honest, the only reason I bought it was the Camillus stamp...as I had no interest in the 10. I slapped the micarta scales on it, and put it away. I don't think it's going to appreciate much, so there's no reason to tuck it away; but I have no desire to use it, so it's in storage. If you'd gotten a stonewashed 10, I'd say to baby it. (I saw one of those for a good price recently, but passed on it)

some things are keepers, rescued from the steams of time, protected, for future generations, because...

some are showers

some are users

eventually you get enough, that well, yeah, doesn't matter :D

a few MAY be investments. time will tell...

i just scored vintage 75 year old edged tools :D in canadian money :D snark.

and i don't even have a way to use them yet. that's ... soon ;) lol. can't miss these life changing handouts...

My cam 10 was bought new so it has always been a user. Maybe not as much now but still a user. I can't bring myself to buy a knife I don't want to use.

When I bought the knife, I bought it with full intentions of using it. Seeing as it is hard to find but not necessarily rare, I want to make sure I am making the right choice. Thanks for all your replies....

That one you have is a little more rare, You might consider just sitting on it for awhile and maybe getting a KaBar version as a user. Camillus is no longer in business, at least the old Camillus is gone, and I don't think new Camillus honors warranties on old Camillus blades. I've personally stopped using all my Camillus Beckers in favor of the Kabar ones since we had those two Cammy BK-9's snap in two right at the "B" in Becker during our chopping contests at Becker West.

For some reason I am not able to post pictures.... Computer literacy is not my strong suit.
