Good morning and hello all. It's been a long time.

I have a Camillus BK77 and I am trying to get information for a guy. He saw my listing and had a question that I could not answer. Now we are both searching trying to find out if the box is correct. I got to thinking, how better to find out other than to ask a bunch of Beckerheards!

Can anyone tell me (or preferably show me)...

How was the box marked for the Camillus BK77?

I know what it's like to get something only to find out a detail was not correct (intentionally or unintentionally) and I don't want to be that guy.

Thanks all

The box I have (don't know how to post photos. been a LONG time) has a BK7 sticker on the Bottom, not on the end as is usual, and has a hand written sticker on the end, RBK7. I had assumed it was correct being as the 77 is based on the 7 and having nothing else to compare to. I've seen stranger things happen.

Bladite Bladite would probably be the one to ask. He owns every Becker known to man.

well, there's two generations of BK77 more or less. the original from Camillus, and the on KaBar released using the Camillus blanks.

i'll go scout my boxes.

Bladite,
Thank you for taking the time to look through your treasures and reply. Specifically I have a Camillus BK77, but the box has a BK7 label on the bottom and a hand written sticker on the end of the box that says RBK7. Is it possible that the knife came this way from Camillus, or is it more likely that someone had a BK77 without a box and they slapped a standard BK7 box onto it? Have you seen such a one off?
Thank you once again

well, if the box is green, is probably Camillus. so that's correct.

they had white boxes a long time ago. then another color i don't recall off hand.

BK7 ... sure. RBK? R implies Reinhardt. not sure how that applies to BK77. RBK7. mmm.

many things are possible, a prior owner swapped boxes, the factory got it wrong, something something...

if it's a good clean BK77, it's correct again :D

Again, thank you.
When I first got the knife (already second hand at that point) I "assume"d it was correct being as the BK77 is based on the BK7. I had never seen another so I had no frame of reference. The "RBK7" sticker is hand written so it could mean anything. I wish I could post a photo.
Thank you again for your time. It's been quite a while since I've been in the forums. Obviously I'm taking life way too seriously.
Best regards all,
Greg
