Camillus BK77 vs Becker BK77 ??

Hello all,
Just bought a Camillus BK77 and was wondering what is the difference between the two?
And why was there two different ones?
Thanks for looking,
wcmd.

The Ka Bar version has a higher polished shine to it, That's about it. Same steel cut from the same blanks as far as I know.

That's correct. Kabar purchased the S30V blanks from a defunct Camillus Cutlery, finished them and added the slick new micarta. Some of the blade's finishes were marred ever so slightly by a loaded belt and sold as seconds. Thanks for that, Toooj. :D

well, the KaBar ones are finished nicer, and have the newer handles.

the grind might be a bit nicer :D

the older ones has Specops sheaths, which i liked.

and the price. KaBar had a nice blowout sale there.

and uhm, what NTS said :>

As everyone else had stated...

The Cams come with the diamond patterned micarta whereas the KA-BAR has the KA-BAR/Becker micarta.
The Cams come with a stonewashed blade, KA-BAR has a high polished, mirror like blade.
The Cams come with a SpecOps sheath, the KA-BAR comes with a tan version of the BK7 sheath.

The grind is definitely nicer on the KA-BAR, and for some reason the overall knife seems more dense/solid on the KA-BAR which may be due in part to the size of the micarta.

I still want a set of those camillus scales but I ain't spending $300+ on a bk77 to get em

I got outbid last night on a pair of Camillus scales on that one auction site, went a bit higher than I wanted to pay ($59.50 + shipping).

I was kinda bummed cause I don't think they come up for sale very often.

Yeh thats higher than I'd pay as well. They are blocky compared to the Kabar stuff. I just like the diamond pattern. I wanna put a set on my camillus crewman but not at that price

Albeit I've never held a knife clad in the Camillus micarta, I don't see how flat scales could compare to the D.B. Webb micarta, as they share the dimensions with Ethans original handle, which kicks ass. I'll take a handle with a palm swell over one without a palm swell any day of the week. Sorry, ESEE.

I only wanted the Camillus scales for looks/ novelty.

The Kabar micarta is great, and it's basically the reason I can't spend $60 on the Camillus micarta since I can always get the Kabar for much less.
