So I recently got a new old stock camillus bk9 with a flat tip, and blackjack leather sheath. Great blade really love how much better it feels in my hand with the thicker blade. Do you guys think its going to preform better or worst with the extra thickness and weight? I have some other camillus beckers and I really like the steel they used I feel like it stays sharper longer… maybe not…maybe I'm crazy.

That's a nice knife and all, but has it been checked for radioactive ebola flu? I'll PM you my address and don't forget to send the sheath.

Nice find! I would love to have a 9 without the swedge. I do not like them. That is one of the reasons I like the Camillus Machax more than the Kabar Machax.

Nice grab. As for performance, there are advantages and disadvantages to the different tip designs. What are your uses for the knife? Prying? Skewering? Piercing?

Really only going to use it for chopping, cutting, and batoning. The flat tip will probably not chew up my baton stick as much.

Nice score!
I had a Camillus BK9 once....
The thicker blade seemed to bite deeper when chopping without a doubt.
However, I've seen two Camillus 9's snap in two during chopping competitions.
They both snapped right on the B if I recall.
Mine was one of them.

I haven't seen a laser etched Ka-bar BK9 break.

Wow I found one just like the OP now I see they are prone to breakage, guess I will sell or trade it for something else

I'm not saying I wouldn't love to have another. Because I would. The Camillus BK9 is an awesome knife!
I just wouldn't wail on it like a madman. :D

well, out of 1,000,000+++++++ produced, we have like 5 breaks?

boo hoo :D

I feel that the chance of it breaking are slim to none. However I don't think ill ever try to bite off more then I can chew with it. Won't be trying to chop a frozen christmas tree with it!

It is such a nice collectors piece I feel bad knowing i'm probably going to strip the coating off within the week.

Several Beckerheads would gladly trade for those Cam 9's. You don't need to upgrade your account to post in the Trade section of the Exchange.

And Dex at coyleoutdoors.com takes trades.
