Has anyone owned one of these, or even handled them? Seems like everything else that Camillus makes it top quality, and I haven't heard much on these knives.

Chris

I've been carrying and using the larger version on a daily basis for a couple of years now. Cutting baling twine and rope, opening feed sacks and mailing envelopes, chopping up cardboard boxes, whacking the occasional thistle or stray blackberry vine, and countless other chores. The blade is thin enough to be a halfway decent slicer and holds a serviceable edge. And I'd carry it today on duty if I were still a policeman. Great value for the price.

If yoy are talking about the ones with the cherry handles, I bought 2 of them back in the early 80's. One large and one small.Kept the large and gave the small to my son. They are our bonding knife. I like them a lot!

I have one with rosewood handles that was built by western before Camillus bought'em. It's excellent.

The similarly styled Camillus boot knives with the Valox handles (and kydex multi-position sheaths) are decent, too.

I have had a small one in Valox for quite some time. A little attention with the Sharpmaker on both sides of the blade made it shavin' sharp. A good solid little concealable knife with a good sheath, and it sells for a moderate price. I don't think you would be disappointed. If so, Camillus customer service is great!:D :D

Please forgive me for going off-topic just a little, but have you taken a look at the Camillus Cuda CQB-2? That is also a great little fixed-blade knife that might fit well "in a boot".
