My local Ace Hardware happens to be the area source for Boy Scout supplies. This morning I went there to get a key made and spotted a pair of Camillus Boy Scout and Cub Scout knives in their display case. They were the last ones they had but they sold them both to me and since they were "display" items they let me have them for half price! Came out to about $25.30 for two new scout knives. No boxes but I'm not complaining. :D
Might want to check your local hardware store for bargains.

I have never found a store in my area that sold Camillus knives. I am planning a road trip in the next couple of months and will be checking out some stores along the way.

Nice find! I am glad they were sold to someone who'll appreciate them. I picked up a couple in the recent past- one is a small stockman style Scout Leader knife and the other is a large single blade lockback both have the BSA emblem on the scales and the blade etching.

That is fun to do. Make sure to get bold and ask them to open up those knife cases. Dig around if they'll let you. I've found a few old ones that did not have an appropriate slot out on the felt cover.

I've never seen Camillus knife in a store, and I'll bet in the last 18 months I've pulled over over a hundred times.

Since I don't Ebay I too love the hunt through various brick & mortar shops, the older the better.

I picked up a couple recent vintage BSA knives from Camillus and was mildly disappointed with the craftsmanship. I wonder if as the plant was winding down the few remaining employees were under such pressure to get product out the door that quality slipped? No idea if this is true. It would be a shameful punctuation to a great company. I hope I simply got a few lemons that slipped through.
