I just received my mailing from the A.G.Russell Collectors club and it had a Camillus CAM1-A1 Bayonet offered for sale.

Some specs
Overall length 12-1/2 inches

Blade 5 inches of 0170-6c high carbon steel 3/16 thick with black epoxy power coating. It looks to have about 1-1/2 inches of serattions.Spear point in design.

Sheath Engineered Thermoplastic with a removable wire cutter and a diamond coated sharpening rod Bianchi clip, quick release buckle and 'H' shaped lashing block.

This sure looks like a beauty ! I can't wait to be able to handle this knife. Maybe at the Camillus booth at this year's New York State Fair.

Good Collecting !

Jocko,
I finally got pics of the bayonet. Now I just have to figure out how to put them up. A little sidenote - I don't think we will be at the Fair this year. :(

Very nice! I don't see one on CR specialties site (just ordered a commemorative M3 from her). Is AGR the only place to get one?

We just cleaned up all back orders so you might want to check with your favorite dealer and see if they are available.

Yep, thats the one. I've been waiting for one of these for some time now. Things come to those that wait. Sometimes even good things. This ain't one.

I'm going to keep mine for a while, but theres no way its going on my kit. Here's why:

The blade - outstanding design, good execution. Even grinds and sensible use of a sharp working edge and strong heavy duty edge on top. (FIDO)

The anchor ring and lug lock - stout and strong. good stuff. ( FIDO)

The grip - the rubber inserts look like they will peel out in the 1st month of use. The hard plastic just slippery. The overall shape of the grip though is good. With better materials it will be a winner. (USE CANVAS MICARTA OR MAKE THE WHOLE THING OUT OF RESIPRENE OR THE LIKE)

The sheath- Bianchi clips have what, six anchor points ? why use only two. In fact why use a bianchi clip at all when it is lousy with MOLLE gear. There is a fastex buckle to detach the sheath? but the cutters are already removable. Highly removable. A light tug and they drop right out. There is a leaf spring that looks like it should engage the cutter, so mine may not be the norm. Mine also has a snap on the retention strap, not the buckle shown above. There is no positve retention other than the keeper straps for the blade. (SCRAP IT. MAKE THE RIG SIMILAR TO THE OLD M8A1 SHEATHS BUT RIGGED FOR MOLLE. DROP THE CUTTER INTO A REMOVABLE POUCH OR IF THEY HAVE TO BE PART OF THE SHEATH RUN A RETENTION DEVICE OVER THE POINT OF THE SHEATH)

The cutter - looks like a step in right direction. I'm worried that it may have too mouch flex, but it should be fine for wd1 and chain link fence. (RUN WITH IT, I'M TIRED OF LENDING OUT MY SWISSTOOL)

I'll usually keep to myself on stuff like this. But I've already had a few Joe's ask me about these. Until this stuff is looked at I'm telling em' to get the marine bayonets as cheap as they can from ebay or to get BK&T 7's or Kabars, but if they just gotta spend that much - buy a custom.. The price on these just high. I know its relative to the demand. But some PVT is going to loose a 1/4 of a paycheck for no good reason.

After the comment, I tried my best to pull out the insert. If you can get it out, you put a lot of effort into it.
