Just wondering if this titanium carbonitriding they do to the blade has any actual effect on edge retention, as they claim. It seems to me that this is a surface treatment only, and would not have any effect on edge retention, due to the fact that any coating on the edge bevel is necessarily ground off in order to sharpen the knife! So, isn't it dishonest and false advertising to claim, as they do on the packaging, that the "blades stay sharper longer"? I'm sure it does, however, act as a good barrier against corrosion.

(I bought this Camillus Crater at Walmart about a year ago. The pivot screw fell out and I sent the knife back to them for replacement. They sent me a brand-new knife, quickly, I might add, so I appreciate that.)
