On a whim I purchased the set of Classic Cartridge knives in the 90's, started with the .257 Roberts as I had a custom mauser action .257 Ackley Improved built the same year the knife came out. Picked up the rest of them one at a time as they came out, bought the earlier models by going thru wholesale catalogs looking to find companies that still had the first models. All purchased thru a Knife Dealer buddy of mine that would set up at all the local gunshows. It was a shame that the series ended, never did buy the two Safari models. Any reason given why Camillus did not make more knives with real bone handles?

Hi timsclips- I love this series too. Im still looking for the 45-70, the 44 remington and the ccc7 how much did you pay- or a better question how much should i expect to pay for these patterns I dont have yet? thanks in advance -Neil

Ebay auctions have ranged from approx $35-$70 on each knife. The websites that have them listed for sale normally ask from $80 to $100 each.

Does the Remington 44 knife have the "blueprint" of the bullet on the blade? I was told this one doesnt by the seller. Before I buy it I wanted to ask you since you have it. Also is it on the 270 winchester? Ive never seen this one for sale and Im wondering if its the hardest one to come buy. Thanks in advance- Neil

My 44 mag has the cartridge schematic on the backside of the blade. The 270 has the schematic on the sheepsfoot(?) blade.
You are right about the 270 large scout pattern, rarely seen offered on ebay, may be the rarest of the series.
My favorite is the 45 colt, the baby trapper pattern is, in my opinion, the most attractive and easy to carry in the front pocket of all these large Camillus patterns.
