camillus closeout store shipping timeframe

I just called again to see what the status is(11/13), now I'm told that they are waiting for the sheath, and it will "definitely come in by the end of the month".

has anyone experienced this 25 days turn around time?

I'm not even mad anymore, I guess one day I'll get a call from the receptionist and wonder why was there a package for me when I haven't ordered anything in a while, then see the brute in the box.

I placed an order with the camillus closeout store on 11/5/03 during the day. I just called them today (11/11/03)and was told it's still a couple of days from being shipped out! That's after a week of waiting, you'd think they would mention something like this on the site or when you order!

is this their usual time frame or am I just having a string of bad luck lately, (family deaths, medical emergency, orders gone bad, all within the last two weeks!)

Some of the items ship the day we recieve the order, and some, due to order volume require assembly from parts. It will vary from product to product, and from time to time. This is why we don't run your card until the item is ready to ship. So, you placed the order during the day on the last Wensday,...the ladies downloaded your order Thursday, and on Tuesday, we are at the point of shipping in a "couple of days". I wouldn't say that this is a "usual timeframe" or not, as we have just started selling product directly to consumers via the internet, but it doesn't sound unduly long at this point. I do, hoewever, know of cases where we have gotten knives shipped the same day we downloaded the orders.

We definetly want you to be a happy customer. If you are not comfortable with this timeframe, just let the folks in customer service know if you would like to change your order. Otherwise, we will get your shipment out ASAP.

I'm not going to cancel or change the order at this point, I can take the wait to save the money, it was just frustrating that after a week, it is still not close to being shipped out.:(

This is the first order I've placed with camillus, but with almost all of the outfits that I've placed an order with, the orders are shipped within 2 days of ordering, most on the same day. Notable exception is bladematrix.com but they state on their website that it will take 3-4 business days to ship.
 
I have ordered twice from the closeout store. Both items were on my doorstep within 2 business days.
 
thanks averageguy, i guess it's just me then.

I just wish there were some kind of communication to let me know what was going on. as it was, i was left in the dark and had to call since the online contact form was not being answered.
 
It's not just you. I placed an order, then sent an email a couple of days ago to see what the holdup was (I got the same answer). I'm okay with it, since when this knife arrives, it will be handed over to my wife to be gift wrapped for my kids. They know just what to give their Dad for Christmas! ;) :D geegee
 
Here's a quick update: my Crewman just hit the front porch! Sweeeeeet! A Becker Necker two hours ago, now this. All the signs of a good weekend on the way. :D geegee
