I ordered this knife back in November from a local knife distributor, who was out of them at that time, NKDI. I had a couple of these in the past along with a CQB-3 and have really liked the style of the knife. I had decided a few months ago to get a good production fixed blade. I wanted first rate materials in it. I actually picked up a Camillus OVB bowie with ironwood handles to be my fixed blade, but it was so nice I couldn't see me using it all that much. Thats where the CQB-1 comes into the picture. As I said, having a couple of these before had already sold me on the design. The blade is a satin finished 5.75" X .157" piece of 154CM. Previous models were made from a matte finished ATS-34. Measurements are the same between the two. Handle material is a "hand-blended" black canvas micarta that matches the black canvas micarta insert in my Firetac! The fit and finish is very well executed with no gaps between handle and exposed tang, exposed tang is even/flush with the micarta all the way around the handle, stainless bolts that hold on the handles are finished flush with the handles, and the handling grooves cut in the top and bottom of the tang are done with precision and are very clean. The sheath is a well done kydex rig that can be carried in several ways; vertical carry, horizontal carry, SOB carry, cross-draw carry, inverted carry, and IWB carry. You can even order a additional safety strap to make it jump-safe when parachuting, course I won't be needing this!

All in all a great knife that is easy to carry, made from great materials, designed by a top rate custom builder, and at a price of $***.*5, who could resist!! :D :D :D
