Hi there, I was thinking about getting this knife and was curious about what peoples thoughts on it were? The one I want is the 5in one with the satin finish and the ATS-34. What I'm looking for is a 5-6in fighter with a kydex sheath. The best price I have seen for this was about $130. Is there anything better in this price range I should look at before I get this one? Thanks

Welcome on the Blade Forum! personaly, but it's only mine opinion, I buyed one once and trade it short after. It's only because it didn't fit my hand. But it's a well made knife with a very well made sheath!
Personnaly if you want a very nice and cheap fighter buy a classic Ka-bar, ask a gunsmith to remove the top guard and find a good kydex sheath for it! you can make this package for under 80$ and it's a wining combination!

The design is awesome, and the materials and construction are reat too. The CQB series is a set of "slim" fighting utility knives. They are low profile, yet perform well. You would have a great knife if you got a CQB, for sure. Bob Terzuola knows how to design knives, for sure.

As utility pieces, the blade shape and grind is great, better I'd say than the "Kabar", due to the grind geometries alone. As a fighter, the knife is low profile and can be retrieved from the sheath quickly. Personally, I'd carry the knife edge out for rapid reverse-grip draws. I bet this knife is a real amazing reverse grip fighter.

I currently have a pair of the CQB-1 and I find them to be an excellent knife! (In-fact, it is MY favorite fixed-blade.). The materials and workmanship is excellent, and it feels great in my hand (perfect balance). It carries very well, with a low profile.

Buy one...You won't regret it!

Excellent knife. Well designed and well built. The CQB-3 is also a great knife and a very good value. It doesn't, CQB-3, have a kydex sheath, and the CQB-1 sheath will not fit, but still a great value nontheless.

WOW...thanks for the responses guys! I think I'm gonna get one...I like the way the handles look. It looks like an extremely well built knife.

You might be better off if you can find someone to get you the Camillus CQB-3 and then get someone like Normark to make a sheath.
CQB-3 uses the same carbon steel in Becker that everyone loves. The steel is damn sharp on this baby.
I won't comment how well it is a fighter cause i'm no martial artist, and I won't have a clue.

ATS-34 is a fine steel. It is corrosion resistant too, which the carbon steel version is not. The ATS-34 version will do you very well, do worries there. It is more expensive than the carbon version, but part of that is the sheath too.
