I recently bought this knife:
....From an online store. It hasn't arrived yet, but I'm kind of concerned that it isn't the real deal. Were there cheap fakes made of these knives? Some I've seen say "Cuda" and some say "Camillus" on the blades, and there are some with black handles and some with tan micarta.
I believe that Camillus originally outsourced these, made from ATS34, then switched to 154cm. They are now made by Meyerco, but cost significantly more.
I guess that what confuses me is that most of the CQB1s I've seen had more of a tan micarta handle, and the one I bought is black. What concerns me is that these have been discontinued for many years, and this place had a half dozen of them a few weeks ago. Any experts out there who can tell, by the picture, if this is likely to be the real deal, as well as anything else about this knife?
Thanks...
Since 1876, Camillus Cutlery has been supplying the world with reliable, innovative and quality-made knives that have survived the true test of time. Camillus also makes the highest quality battle knives for the US Military. If you research the knife you will find that it is valued as a collectible for more than the original price. They are new, in the box with paperwork.
