I am looking to buy a really good big knife. I have been visiting the forum and decided I would get a Camillus CUDA Maxx. I saw in my ramblings through the forums that the CUDA is coming out with a 7" blade. But, am unable to find out when it is coming out, or if it came out already and they are collector items. They do not show up in any searches, and I forgot how I got to that thread, (old age, you know) Any one have any info on it and a release date? Availability? Price? TIA c.j.g.

I would ask on the Camillus forum about that. I think Darrel made one for a joke, for a friend at Camillus, but they might come out with a production run for fun if there is any interest out there. :p

Don't forget they are currently committed to the Dominator and the Aftermath, with plenty of interest (read: pre-orders) in both of them.

Meanwhile, I carry a 5.5" CUDA Maxx, and it is big enough in itself to scare flocks of sheep right off the road :D

I saw one of these at Blade; it was cool, and BIG! OK, the last is obvious but doesn't really sink in until you hold one in your hand (or both hands, it's big enough for a two handed grip). I believe the release is going to be sometime this fall.

I wanna get one for each pocket, and reverse the clips on them so they're tip up carry...:D :D

Would be a nice little dress knife, eh? But then I'd still be searching for a large utility folder....

RoadRunner - Fall is what I heard Will say at the Blade show. Get your preorders in now. It is a limited run.

The 7" Maxx is called the Gibbs. Named after Phill Gibbs at Camillus. The story I got from Darrel went basically like this, he was working on the CUDA Maxx project with Camillus. Phill made the comment that the knife wasn't big enough, that the two Sifu's he carried were bigger. So, Darrel as a partial joke and challenge made a 7.125" folder for Phil Gibbs. The report is, Phil carries his daily. I believe he carries two. He also had all of his pants tailored so the knives would fit in the pockets correctly.

Darrel is going to start work on a 12" Maxx soon. He said he is getting ready to start designing the blade(s). He wants to do something a little different.

Oh believe me, my order is in :D . I'm pretty tight with the manager of my local knife shop and I asked him to save one for me.
