Hello Fellow Forums members! I hope all of you are in the best of health these days. Anybody own a Camillus Maxx Folder? If you do, can you share with me your likes and dislikes about the knife. Is this knife everything they advertise it to be. How does it cut? Is the locking mechanism strong? Is it comfortable to use and carry? Thanks for reading my forum.

IF WAR IS HELL, TAKE A BETTER PITCHFORK THAN THE DEVIL

I have one and I am really proud of it. The lock up is good and I think the fit and finish is fine. It has alot of wow factor. The only drawback I have experienced is when I carry it. It sticks down in my pocket so far it gets scratched by my change. But thats not the knives fault!!!

I have one too, and I've been carrying it IWB strong side front. It carries quite well once I get it situated in the proper space. There isn't much to dislike on this knife, I haven't found any yet. Likes... darn near addicting opening this thing! Lock-up is solid and strong. I think that this knife is all that it is advertised and more. Get one, you will not be disatisfied.

IMHO the Camillus CUDA Maxx bowie is a 5.5 inch Sebenza. The Ralph design is superb and the Camillus quality couldn't be better.

The Maxx bowie that I own is VERY impressive in
both function and quality. Camillus has done an
excellent job of converting a custom design into
production iron.

The ONLY real problem about owning one is that
unless you live in a country setting the knife
is really to big to be useful. Sure you can carry
one to bolster your ego but that all it will do.

FWIW if Camillus were to make a smaller 3 or 4 inch
version they could give the mighty Sebenza a real
run for their money:D :D

My MaXX arrived on 2 April.
It is all good.
Too big for NYC carry, but it will come to the woods soon :)
What amazed me is how flat the knife is and also how comfey the handle is.
Truely old meets new.

I have a Camillus Maxx Bowie and its my EDC knife. i like big knives, prior to the Maxx I carried a REKAT Sifu and a Cold Steel XL Voyager. The Maxx is the ultimate. Its big and it locks up great. For its size it has a thin profile which makes it carry well. D2, great steal sharpens well and keeps an edge.

I wouldn't change a thing!!

I am very satisfied with mine. I only have thing I would like to see changed, and that is for the Ti handles to go back to the thicker Ti that was used on the first run. There is absolutley nothing wrong with the thinner Ti that is currently being used, I just like the feel of the thicker handles better. Oh, a little birdie told me, there is a very good chance the thicker Ti might be used again, on the CUDA Maxx in the near future! ;)

Some people think it is much to big of a knife to carry. In a sense, I have to agree. The "need" for a big knife isn't as great as it once was. However, in this day and age, "need" has much less to do with our lives. So, I carry mine because I want to and because it has become my favorite knife. Also, the saying "a big knife can do little knife jobs better that a little knife can do big knife jobs" could be a possible motto for the Maxx.

I've seen quite a number of CUDA Maxx folders and they are fine knives. Of course, do not expect Sebenza-like fit&finish but you get a lot of knife and top materials for the money. however, as you can see in other Maxx topics the quality may be not always as consistent as you would like to see on high $$$ production knife. But you can always send the knife back if you have the one that is not perfect, and the second one has be top quality. Anyway, from my expirience I can say: if you want a quality big blade that folds - go for CUDA Maxx :)

What I like about Maxx is:
a) materials (D2 and Titanium)
b) shape (dagger version)
c) lock (very, very strong)
d) sits quite low in the pocket for the size.

I own a bowie and a stiletto both are great, the bowie is a more useful blade design and is my edc,the cuda maxx knives are well worth the cost!

Actually, I have been thinking yes, there is something I would change. Camillus should make the production version of the MAxx in the 7 + inch blade....that would be very nice, and scary :D

Centurian - Remember the saying, be careful what you ask for......

i'd actually prefer they made a smaller version around the 3.5" range. I know a lot of you guys like the big knives but for us city slickers it's not that convenient to carry a big knife

I love mine and carry it in my back pocket. For the size I don't even know that it is there.

I just got mine today (dagger blade) and WOW, it is an awesome knife. Titanium handle, very light. Carries great in my back pocket with its pocket clip. Flicks open very fast. You can press the bladeguard with your thumb and wrist flick it to open fast like a switchblade. Makes a nice CLICK! Nasty good knife!

The only bitch I have is that the blade is not as sharp as I had wanted it to be. But it is still pretty sharp. I would not want to carry it in my front pocket, it would restrict movement too much, besides I got a .357 or 9mm in there usually. But in the back pocket with my wallet it's a dream to carry such a big knife so easily. So flat and light that I hardly know it's there. It's uber cool. My favorite carry knife right now. I can't imagine it getting much better than this in locking folders.
