Personally I prefer my edges plain. I found that for most folders, the serrations is kinda in the way.
I'm curious as to why do you need them partially serrated?
I am an avid collector of many things and whatever knife I carry gets a lot of use cutting/sawing through heavy boxes and tape and the serrated edge stays sharper longer and slices/saws through heavy triple ply cardboard much easer than a plain edged blade. I wont even bother carrying a knife that doesnt have a 2-2-½ of serrated edge.
The CUDA MAXX Bowie is available with a partially serrated blade and most the knives made by Camillus and its competitors are available with both plain and partially serrated blades and for one very good reason. In many mediums a serrated edge cuts with less effort and stays sharper longer than a plain edge.
