Camillus Cuda or Lev-R-Lok or other...

I'm looking to buy a one-hand opener but I don't want an auto (bad reputation and all) or a thumb-hole/thumb-stud knife (I like uncommon folders). So far it looks like the Cuda or Lev-R-Lok. Does anyone know much about these two? Are there others to consider? Thanks, allen.

How about the Kershaw Ken Onion Boa, it has an "index trigger" as well as the thumb stud. Add that to the torsion bar assisted opening it might be fancy enough for you

The CUDA and Lever Lock are at nearly opposite ends of the spectrum. The CUDA is a relatively expensive, high tech knife while the Lever Lock is not. Both fine products but aimed at different customers.

James Segura mentions the Boa above. Actually it isn't available yet(soon but not yet) but the rest of the Onion designed torsion bar knives are available. They include names like Random Task, Mini Task, Whirlwind, Blackout and Avalanche. They range in price all over the board and all of them are extremely popular. Enjoy the new knife. Take care.

I would probably pass on the lever-lock. I think the CUDA is and excellent knife and also the Kershaw / Ken Onion collaborations as mentioned above my Knife Outlet. They're gonna be cheaper than the CUDA, but are still excellent knives. You may want to try and handle them to get a feel for the different actions.
Or Heck, just buy one of each.
Good luck!

The CUDA is a very nice knife although I perfer the Kershaw Blackout over it since the CUDA is a much heavier knife.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

Allen,

Couldn't find your e-mail, so I'll post here. I have a CUDA that I'm selling. Has been carried, opened and cut open some mail. Factory edge. Never sharpened. $90 plus shipping.

If interested my e-mail is fnorman@datasys.net.

Thanks guys. Smooth Bone, I'm going to check out some knives this weekend (hopefully) and I'll see if I like the Cuda.
I'll let you know.
I just recently handled a Spyderco Dyad Jr, it's nice since it has two locking blades (plain and serrated). I like it even though it has a thumb-hole.

Well, I bought a Lev-R-Lok today and I think it's a really neat knife (I can't stop playing with it).
I also liked the CUDA and I will buy one eventually some day (but I wish it were not a liner-lock).
I still have'nt seen a Kershaw Onion knife.

Hello!

I always has to recommend my favorite: Emerson Commander!
Feels molded to your hand, cuts like a chainsaw, the quickest folder in the world (to get out of the pocket and ready that is!)
I will not go on rambling, but i just can't stop carrying it, i got a lot of very nice folders but the Commander rules!
I guess i'm rambling so i'm outta here
