I tried to put off the handles of the Camillus Cuda Talon but I did not succeed. Do you think the handles are stuck there?
I´d like to put thin plastic layers between the handles and the tang for I am not quite satisfied with the friction when the knife is in the TEKLOK and I am afraid I could loose this cool knife.
Did anybody of you have similar problems? How did you solve it?
Standa

You could try modifying the sheath, rather than the knife-like adding another Chicago(?) screw.
Retention on my factory sheath isn't good, and I don't trust it for horizontal carry, so it is off having another sheath made at the moment.

I did that first but it did not help much. So I put thin plastic layers under neath the scales. I told Standa to do it the same way but he cannot remove the scales. Since his Talon is much younger than mine, I am wondering whether the scales are glued to the tang. Will, are you here to answer the question? :)

Guys,
As far as I know, the scales are just screwed on. Our facility is closed for summer "Shut Down", and the production guys will not be in untill next week. I'll ask them if they glued any of the early ones one, but I don't think they ever did.

Standa,
If you will email me your shipping address, we will send you another sheath. We had some problems with the early ones, and we are happy to replace yours for you. Thanks for being a customer!

:
I used my wife's hair dryer to sorta collapse the sheath at the point on the back side.
Now my knife rides nice and snug with no more problems.
You might have to do it more than once to get it just as you want it, I did, but it worked well for me the 2nd time.:D
I took it nice and slow so as not to screw the sheath up.

Hi guys,

thank you for all your suggestions. I could ask my daughter for her hair dryer, she has a better one than my wife:-)

Thanks a lot for your kindest offer, Will, I am sending you an e-mail.

Standa:)

Will,

did you get my posts? I sent you an email in July and in August again but we had some troubles with our email software here.

I still am looking forward to hearing from you :)

Standa

Standa,

Just wondering.... Did you get your new sheath? If yes, is it better than the old one?

David

David,

unfortunately I did not get any sheath yet. I even did not get a word from Will Fennell yet although I have already sent him two mails.

Do you know if Will is here at Forums? Did you read something from him during this summer?

Thanks

Standa

Standa,
I haven't had any emails from you, but we are of course very willing to help! My email address is ...

wfennell@rjsonline.net

or, if there seems to be a problem getting through to me, if you want to post your mailing address here, I'll get it, and send you a new sheath. I understand that international "communications can sometime be a problem, but we wnat to help. I look forward to hearing from you.

Rest assured that Will and Camillus will come through.

I had the very same problem and Will did as he said.

BTW, I rigged up one of my tec-locks for 45 degree canted carry and it seems as though the hole(s) you have to use to accomplish that carry position significantly tighten up the grip that the sheath has on the knife. That wasn't my intent when I mounted the tec-lock that way, it was merely a welcome side effect.

Will,

Yesterday I got the new sheath for my Talon from you. Thank you very much. This new sheath fits superb to the Talon. There is a big difference between the old sheath and the new one. I won´t be afraid of carrying this cool knife.

Will, I have never doubted that you would do as you said.

I wish you and Camillus many satisfied customers and am one of them.
Thanks again

Have a knife day

Standa

PS: gonna order Arclite
