I saw an ad here on bladeforums about this funny looking knife. those electronic sideplates looks nice.. I am an electronic so this would be a nice little friend at the desk!! Have anyone of you people tried it, I am not doubting that the plates themselves are strong, (try to break one) but the cupper wont that peel off or something??

Do a search on the Camillus forum (under "Makers/Mfrs") on 'cyber' for some opinions/complaints on the knife.

It's ATS-34, which is 1st class steel. The handles are probably as strong as G10, but the finish might be lacking, based on the complaints in the Camillus forum.

My opinion - it does have a certain novelty appeal, and I actually like the size & shape of the blade & handle, but I think $75 (internet price) might be a bit much. If you check out Spyderco, Benchmade, or even CRKT, you will find better knives for the same money or less.

I have one of the small lockbacks. Nice little knife. Very low-key little personal knife & gets lots of comments other than "Dear God! He's Going To Kill Us All!" that other "tactical" knives usually produce among non-knife people...

I had one...uncomfortable edges on the handle (easily remedied if you must have one) and rust spots (due to bead blast?) meant I didn't keep it long.

I have Ferrets knife now. Really that bead blast sucks --> I sanded it off with 400 and 600 grit wet and dry sandpaper - to create kind of satin finish. I also smoothed corners with 400 grid paper for considerable better feeling. Rusting stopped and it is nice to handle but I still have to find correct screw to fasten the thumb stud (I had to drill it of as it was lock tited too firmly for my Allen wrench to endure the torgue).

If you can accept that you have to smooth the corners after purchase you could like it - as I do now.

Ferret where have you been lurking - haven't seen you around for a while?

In highschool we would rip open broken calculators (namely the popular Ti-30's and Ti-35's) for the circuit board to use as keychains (all computer geeks and gamers

). The handle looks, hell it IS the same thing. Its always nice to see creative recycling. I showed a picture of the knife to some computer engineering majors at college about a months ago and now they all want one.

Yeah, they are kind of cool looking. I had one for a while and carried it some, then just kept it by the pc for stuff.

The handle edges I also found to be too sharp and uncomfortable, so I gave it to my 17 year old son. He thinks it's awesome.
