Camillus Dominator with tanto blade??

Wow. I didn't know Darrel did tantos at all. Camillus is going out on a limb! :D or is this a typo? What's the Camillus forum say about it?
 
The new DDR Custom AXD has a tanto version... it is... odd looking, although probably quite effective.

Then again... I'm a reformed geometric tanto fan. Don't like them too much anymore, except to look at.

Traditional Japanese tantos, now... mmm.

I seem to remember hearing something about this on the Camillus forum. I might look into one, if they are not serrated. I love my current Dominator, and a tanto would look cool. I don't know how practical it would be for me, but then again, I'm not always the practical sort.;)

Yes, DR has a tanto....which is a loosely interpreted style nowadays....:rolleyes:
 
It's real. Go to the exchange area and click on dealers production knives and 2thehilt has a picture of it.

I guess others might find it appealing though.
 
hmmm... was looking forward to getting this one as i like tanto blades, but i have to say, it's not visually appealing... to me at least. i was hoping for a blade shape more in line with the DDR AXD. maybe it's the angle of the pic i saw at 2 The Hilt. i have a feeling i'll be passing on this one. on paper, it sounds awsome... S30V blade, same specs as the Dominator, DDR design...
 
Fantastic knife regardless of which blade shape you prefer - ergonomic handle, quality materials, flipper/finger guard, quality construction. Tough, if not impossible, to beat.
 
Cant really see the blade details as the pic is at an angle. I will reserve my judgement until I can see a better pic.
 
Yep, Darrel has a tanto in the AXD. He did a tanto for DeltaZ in the Osprey. Darrel is not a big fan of the tanto. He started doing them because of requests from customers. While I generally don;t like tantos, the one Darrel is doing on the AXD fits the angles on that knife.

I was looking at the Camillus tanto Dominator tonight at Darrel's. Something is not quite right about it. I don't know if it doesn;t fit that handle or what. There are a lot of people out there who like this style of tanto, so I'm sure it will sell for Camillus.
