Wow!!! I have an EDC on order, but am waiting for a second item that was backordered. I think I'll have to call and split up the orders today. I can't wait for my EDC any longer!!!

I've was just contemplating about ordering up a Benchmade. I think I'll hold off until I get my EDC. I'd hate to spend all that money, and find that the Benchmade just gathers dust while I carry my EDC everywhere.

I really have to say, it looks like you did a great job, Darrel. That is the most tactful looking tactical style knife I've ever seen. Your pictures are gorgeous beyond the extreme. Hazar!!!!

Now for the big question. I'm pretty dumb when it comes to all the various blade steels. How does the 420HC stack up compared to 154CM. Does 420HC have any outstanding characteristics? I ask this because...... I'm wondering whether I should just get a 154CM version ordered up right away, or hold off until I've played with the 420HC a bit. I'm an outdoorsman, so my knives get used pretty heavily.

Darrel,

Way to go, man!!!!!!!!!! Looks superbly executed and designed. Gonna hafta pick up a couple -- 420 and 154CM. I'm in love with that blade design.

I have the Camillus Arclite and already love it -- it's become my main neck blade, and looks like it'll take a trip to Idaho with me in June.

Camillus is doing some of the hottest and most creative work these days in the cutlery biz. Will has really taken things and shaken them up!

Peace,

Brian.

Thanks BUZZ for the kind words

Please credit the CAMILLUS team for this knife.

This was a team project. It take many hours of serious thought and head banging to make a project like this come true.

Will Fennel, Philip Gibbs, Mike Dillon, James Furgal, the work force at Camillus and myself have hours and hours of planning in this project.

I like Camillus because we as a team test and retest the product before it is good enough for the public. No flash in the pan to make a quick buck stuff from the Camillus folks. The thinking at Camillus is long term products that are tough, function, and become classic best sellers.

As for the 420hc from my experience with the steel it is a good functioning steel that holds a fair edge. I use it around the shop everyday. I just strop it when it dulls and go back to work. I like the stain resistance very much.

The 154 cm will hold a great edge and the price difference will reflect accordingly.

Either steel for every day use will work fine.

ENJOY

Very nice. I agree that Camillus is making some astute moves in new knife designs. Will the EDC be available with a Talonite blade? I really like that material and hope that a limited run would be considered.

My first Camillus was a military issue pocket knife circa 1970's. I have never used it nor performed maintenance on it. It's amazing that the knife is rust free to this day. My newest Camillus is the Talonite Talon which I like very much.

Edit: I would prefer flat-headed screws that are flush with the handle instead of the protruding round-headed screws.

Nah. An EDC in something like Talonite would never happen. Me actually finding the perfect knife can never happen. Same thing.

Hmmmm...... The more I think about it..... a Talonite EDC...... All I have to do is refrain from all sin, give away all my earthly possessions, commit 1,000 acts of kindness every day...... and maybe my prayers will come true. :-)

I agree. A Talonite EDC would be awesome!!!! Far beyond my wildest expectations in a manufacturer. I check out the offerings from every production company, and can never seem to find that knife that suits all my purposes, yet still looks drop dead gorgeous. A Talonite EDC would perfectly fit the bill...... until I can scrounge the money up for Darrel to make a custom one for me. :-)

Darrel, "maybe someday" is alot better than "no way Jose!" Until then, some of us will hold our breath in hopeful anticipation.

I called and got my orders split up. 1SKS was so good, they got my EDC shipped out today, after I called them at 4:30PM. Now that's service!!! So my EDC should arrive on Wednesday!!! Now I've just got to find something to do with myself until then! I'm about jumping out of my shoes with anticipation! Somebody hold me down!!!

I've been staring at Darrel's photographs all day, and trying to figure out why I'm so darn intrigued by the EDC. I remember the first time I saw the ad on the back of Tactical Knives. I'd just looked through a magazine full of sensational knives, but was then blown away by a pic of the EDC. This knife just looks so well thought out. The blade shape looks to be so sturdy, but useful at the same time. The handle has that great skeletonized kind of grip, but doesn't have that scary tactical look. I feel I could use this at work without onlookers gasping in fear. The curves are...... well..... sexy!!! The shape of this knife must have some sort of subliminal thing going on. I can't take my eyes off of the pictures!!! The handle even looks perfect. I'll get nice deep pocket carry, with a clip big enough that I'm not worried about bending it or snapping it off. All these features, coupled with a locking method that I'll actually be confident of for a change. Wow!!! I even love the position of the lanyard hole!!!

This is the first knife I've looked at without thinking, "I just wish they'd done....." The EDC is the epitome of the modern folder. It has all the traits of what a folder should be, without having that "I wish I was a fixed blade" kind of look. All this and I don't even have mine yet.

I guess I'll just have to spend the next five days picking out the perfect piece of paracord for it.

There goes more of Darrel's infamous "fence post pictures"

I agree, the Camillus EDC is one heck of a factory knife. Great design at a great price. Can't wait for my 154CM one to arrive!

Darrel, that looks great! I guess I best get one for myself.

I have to agree that working with the "Camillus design team" is a pleasure!

Brian, you are right about Camillus being a leader in the industry today. I am sure you will be seeing great stuff from them in the near future!

Great job on the EDC Camillus!

Darrel, if that knife passes your scrutiny, then I know I'll need one soon

Camillus is really making some waves with the CQB, Talon and the EDC.

The countdown begins. 120 minutes until my EDC arrives. Oops, it's 119 minutes now. Now it's 118 minutes.

Can anybody tell I'm excited.

Rob,

Good to see you! Gotta get outta that shop once in awhile, eh?

Hope all's well. Gonna be in yer neck (at Ron's place -- well, near yer neck at least) in June.

Hey...

Anyone have pics of the EDC along side something else for size comparison? It could be 12" long or 1.5" long... I just can't tell...

Are the 154CMs shipping or still awaiting?
