Thought I would post a comparison shot of these two DDR designed knives.

I thought they aren't that similar... not as obvious with the comparison between outdoors edge's DDR design (sp? I couldn't remember the name) and the EDC.

They are definitely two distinct knives, but this is as close to a production 4" EDC as we are likely to see.

I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised with the S&W. Previously I would have never given S&W a second look. The FL1 is a solid knife. Construction similar to the Camillus EDC or Outdoor Edge Paragee. It has a blade of 440C. Lockup is solid, with no blade play.

Suggested retail is $56

For those that like the EDC but want something a little bigger I would recommend a look at the FL1.

No, dammit, I want a 4" CUDA EDC! :D

Dex,
I'm with you, man! Since that is not in the works maybe they'll do a CUDA DDR "AFTERMATH" - by the way, Dex, do you have your AFTERMATH yet? I got mine yesterday and is it ever SCHWEEEEET! 5.5" folding Bowie (blade is wide - not long & narrow) - S30V steel - carved Ti Persian style handle - choice of tip-up or tip-down carry - flipper - would make great follow-up to MAX! Will try to get some pics tonight - pics available on DDR's site.

Bill :D :D

Bill - Darrel is coming to Winston-Salem this Friday for the S.E. Custom Knife Show this weekend. I'll hook up with him at some point in time Friday evening and hopefully he'll have mine! That Aftermath is one bad mofo. Makes the Maxx look tame!

In reading through various threads, it seems everyone is getting their knives ahead of Dex these days! ;)

AAAAWWWWW! Poor Dex - I've had mine all week to handle, play with and use and he may or may not get one this weekend! :grumpy: :( :D :D Brings to mind a Dusty Springfield song: "Wishin' & Hopin'". Just remember Dex, it will be worth the wait - it is BAAAAAAD!!!! :D :D :D
