For those of you with a Camillus EDC, how do you like it? I'm thinking of getting one, with either the 154cm blade, or the Talonite blade, and was just wondering what the general consensus is? I love the blade shape on this knife.

Excellent knife. Small, but not too small. I have average size hands and I can get all four fingers to wrap around the handle with room to spare. The recurve gives a surprising amount of usable blade edge.

A great bargain especially on the 154CM. Plenty of knife for edc, very smooth, nicely finished. I have a full sized custom and actually prefer this size for most things. Much more sheeple friendly -- the .5" makes a bigger difference than one might think.

The Camillus is great.

I just got my "Old Glory" EDC... nice knife, but not for big hands.
If you wear a glove size of Large or X-Large... I'd go for something larger... I'd recommend a Kershaw Boa... very similar but more comfortable for big handed blokes like me.

general consensus is, like most everything Camillus... it rocks, my 154CM EDC is probably the sharpest knife i've got (real close with my Spyderco Native though) and that's just using the factory edge. The ergonomics are great in even my large hands and the value (at least in 154CM) is hard to beat for a folder of this calibre. The talonite version is a bit less of a bargain simply because Talonite is so pricey, but from what I hear, the extra cost is quite worth it *shrug*
buy an EDC, you shan't regret it!

Hmmmmm. I'll have to hold one before I buy, then, cause I've got pretty darn big hands.

The EDC is, in my opinion the best deal in the world of knives today. I am pretty new to knives, and own about ten knives. I've handled lots more, and find you get just about what you pay for, except with this knife. With the edc, you get at least 3 or 4 times for the price. Solid lock, excellent feel in the hand (my hand is medium sized), well concieved blade, sharp and light. Stays sharp after abuse as well (I have the 154cm). Great deal!!!!

For a well made Frame-lock with 154CM blade steel the EDC is an excellent value for $50. I have large hands and it fits just fine. If you have big bruiser knuckles and sausage fingers it may not fit as well. The EDC is more sheeple friendly then many other Tactical folders which can be a bonus.

Cheers,
Gord.

The EDC is one of the best bang-for-the-buck knives on the market. It's a great size that is very easy to carry either IWB or in the pocket, and comes with a highly useful blade shape. Also, it's a knife that you can use around sheeple. I have both the 154CM version and the Talonite one, which also sees the most use. If you can afford the Talonite one, go for it. You will not be disappointed, period.

Dexter is right. Best value out there especially in the 154CM. I gave one of them to my 13 year old nephew. He's had it since they came out. I touched up the blade last month. His dad usd it as a gasket scraper while rebuilding a lawnmower. Didn't ruin the edge just took the "sharp" off. Took more time to set up the sharpmaker than to touch up the knife.

I don't think you'll be disapointed if you give it a chance.

Is there blade play up/down/sideways on these folders? Do they have a warranty department that fixes them for free when the lock starts wearing? I too am interested but for double that you can get a knife from a reputable company that will fix it for free when you break it or the lock starts wearing. Please get back to me.

The EDC is a great value, no matter what blade steel you choose. Blade play is minimal, if not inexistent.

I love the EDC. And in my personal opinion, all of the steel options are great. From my experience, the more expensive the EDC, the better the fit and finish. I've had two 420HC, two 154CM, and one anniversary edition go through my hands. The level of fit and finish got better and better as the knife got more expensive. The anniversary edition was 100% perfect in every way, and by far the best of the lot in terms of aesthetics.

Nope. The Anniversary Edition EDC is 154CM, with a Titanium Nitride coating. It runs for $89.99 at 1SKS. The knife is stunning beyond belief!!!!

The EDC is a great little knife, heavy emphasis on small.
It does represent great value for the money.

It's interesting that everyone focuses on its size-- I would guess it's slightly larger than a Small Sebenza, but I don't have them both here.

I think that the focus on size is a tribute to Darrel Ralph and Camillus. The design is soooooo good that it deserves to me made in a few different sizes.

I will admit that I gave an EDC to my father-in-law, who has hands the same size as a grizzly bear's. The knife was too small for him to work the lock properly. But this guy has unsually large hands.

Your kidding me, right?
Camillus probably has one of the best customer service setups in existence.
Example: I was having problems with vertical blade play with my Camillus 154CM EDC after a while, so I posted on the Camillus forum for help, not long after Will Fennel (great guy, btw) sends me an email tellin' me to give him my phone number, he called me THAT VERY NIGHT and we were able to conclude that the lockbar wasn't stressed enough, so he explained to me how I could accomplish a fix at home, and gave me the option of sending it in and getting it fixed for FREE (he also never asked for shipping money so i'd assume Camillus was willing to cover return shipping costs as well), even if I tried fixing it myself and only made the problem worse or generated a new problem, his precise words were something on the order of "If you can't get it right or you make some kind of mistake, we'll stand behind it, just send it in and we'll be happy to take care of it." Camillus and Spyderco are probably my two favorite knife companies in existence, but Camillus is definetely superior in the customer service area!
