If you had to choose between the Talonite EDC, and the 154cm EDC, which would you choose? Now, I'm asking this as if you could afford both with no prob. Which one?

EDC D2 :) Holds an incredible edge, gets incredibly sharp, and much lees worries in case you hit the stapple or something like that...

If I could afford both, I'd get both.:) Seriously, I'd go with the 154CM for no real reason. I guess I'd have to test drive the Talonite before I could commit to buying one.

I've had my Talonite EDC for two weeks now. I am pleased to announce this is the best utility/carry knife I've had from a factory.

Most of us know how well the EDC carries to start with, now add the wonderous material we call Talonite and it is awe inspiring. It cuts meat, cardboard, wood, etc. like its going out of style. It holds its edge like nothing else, and the edge is easliy refreshed with just a couple of swipes on a Sharpmaker. It's fun to use....period.

Go with the Talonite version, you can get 154-CM anywhere, and D2 is excellent in the edge dept., but Talonite sharpens so much easier, and it won't corrode.

I’d do the talonite in a heartbeat. My everyday carries get a lot of use, so ease of maintenance is high on my list. You can just strop talonite to bring the edge back. Talonite is also very rust resistant.

The only reason I’d ever prefer the 154CM over the talonite would be if I cut large amounts of thin paper. Talonite doesn’t do nearly as well as thin paper. Well, at least the Mini-Talon doesn’t. Given the blade shape of the EDC, a Talonite EDC might do much better than a Mini-Talon.

Buzzbait,

I worked the edge over on my Talonite EDC with a Sharpmaker, and it cuts thin paper as well or better than the best steel blade. The stock on the EDC is thinner than that of the Talon. The thin cross section of the EDC blade makes for an outstanding slicer, nice and thin!!!

Talonite for me too. It's a great deal on any folder with this blade material! Easy to sharpen, easy to maintain, and in combination with the thin stock, it cuts like crazy.

BUT, since that is not the question . . . I would go with my talonite one anyday! It is a great knife and I love the talonite!:D :D

i have the 'regular' 420HC edc, and i must say that overall, it is an INCREDIBLE knife. and easily the best value in the knife world. ever. if i had my druthers though, _i_ would make it a tip UP (edited) carry. also, i have rust developing on the handle, but NOT on the blade  i would love one with a Ti frme and talonite blade. but i don't think they come like that. oh, and make it about $75 LOL

anyway, i love my edc and think the blade geometry alone is probably the best out of ANY folder _i_ have ever used.

damn, i shouldn't type this early in the morn....

Mr. Vactor,

I believe they are all "tip down". Maybe you have a special one, but all of those I've played with, including the one I own, are tip down.
