Hi all, this knife was given to me by my grandpa when I was 6 years old (25 some odd years ago). It was well worn then, and I haven't put it to much use. Recently I began cleaning it up and trying to put a new edge on it. The main blade has met my sharpmaker and is coming along. I want to drop it in my pocket to supplement my peanut, but I want to know more about it first. From the research I have done, it seems the tang stamp dates it to somewhere between 1941 and 1946. It looks like some version of an equal end jack, but I have not seen any like it on the web. Most of the EE Jacks I've seen have a centered shield, this one does not. The main blade (or what's left of it) has a swedge.

Any help would be appreciated. handle material? model? date?

Thanks in advance and I look forward to putting this guy back into use!

Thought I would help out and post it in your thread

If you could get a better picture of the tang stamp we could better help out.

Thanks for all of your help Gevonovich! I definitely see the resemblance between mine and that green handled sword brand. The bolsters match. The tang stamp is well worn, but I don't see the sword brand stamp. I wonder if they produced some early sword brand knives without it?

Thanks again!
