After searching for reviews and opinions on these two knives, it sounds as if most really love the Heat, and some even prefer it over the Dominator!?

So if you have experience with both of these, which would you vote for?

A) Heat

B) Dominator

C) All of the above

D) Aftermath!!! This may be cheating, but since this was mentioned and has also crossed my mind, any comparison would be helpful.

Any details as to your reasons and experiences would be great.

Many thanks!

I added the Aftermath to the mix because it's in the same family and those familar with the Aftermath may very well have experience with the Heat and Dominator.

i have all three. the Aftermath is my favorite, VERY positive deplyment and it is just beautiful!

for pure deployment between the Dominator and the Heat, the Heat wins. for pure functionality, the Dominator wins hands down. i wish that Camillus would revise the Dominator's mechanics to the Heat's.... now that would be AWESOME! the steel for the Heat is adequate, but i prefer the S30V of the Dominator.

i do have a review of the Dominator and Heat on the 'other forum's' review section.

the Aftermath is worth every penny, a sweet sweet knife.

I have only the Heat. I used to carry either a CRKT/Lightfoot M1 or CRKT/Crawford Falcon (large) and found them to be a bit heavy. Don't get me wrong, they are both pretty well built. BUT if you carry multiple blades, which I do, the extra weight adds up pretty quick. The Heat and M1 are both really great slicers when it comes down to knocking down those monster Dell Server boxes (on of my functions at work is server staging/certification - if the company purchases the server, we will toss the box(es). ) The Heat is easier on my hands over a long period of time - the M1 is good on the short haul, but the corners are a bit sharp and I get "hot spots". The Falcon, actually, has better hand ergos than the M1 (just have to sharpen the Falcon a little more often, but it's pretty easy!!) for the longer chores, and though I haven't compared enough to be certain, the Heat would probably win in the long haul. I carry the Falcon in my daypack. I've only had to touch up the edge on the Heat, but then I haven't really beat it up either - I was pretty leary of the Zytel handles at first - it felt a little cheap in comparison to what I paid up here for it (If I remember correctly, it was around $130 CDN after taxes!!) but once it wore in a bit, it feels really nice. I've found the same thing with my Spydie FRN Delica - once it wore in a bit, it just kinda grows on you :D I switched the clip for lefty but left the assist operational. I have it with me whenever I wear cargo pants - which is about 4 days out of a 5 day week. It carries very light and if you clip it towards the back of the cargo pant pocket, I find that it's hard to tell it's there - I have to keep checking once in a while. I found that it's a little big to carry in a front pocket, though a deep carry clip might cure that.

Hope this helps -gord

Dominator is far superior in my opinion. The assist action is very smooth on the Dominator. I did not like the hard to open assist on the Heat. Repeated opening did not ease the opening of the Heat that I had. When the Heat opened, it opened violently. The Dominator scales feel solid and provided better balance.

I have both... A tuned dominator and the heat. I like both ALOT. I carry the heat almost constantly along with a sebenza. I use the heat for all sorts of "beater" uses its going on a year. I have given away a few of the heats. I don't think you can beat them for the money. If you could only have one of them I might lean towards the Dominator but you will not loose alot at all- if anything going with the heat... but that is just one mans opinion
