While looking around the web this mornng I found quite a few video's reviewing Camillus knives. What came quickly to my ear was how the name was butchered.
Coming from a town like Plaistow you hear many many incorrect ways of saying the name.
Anyways Camillus is pronounced Ka-Mill-Us
Camel-us is very common.

Just wanted to clear that up..:D

P.s.
Plaistow is pronounced pla-st-ow

I live near Camillus, and of course the knives were manufactured there and the company is named for the region. It is pronounced "ka-MILL-us." Nobody around here pronounces it "camel-us."

Picked up a Oct.1949 issue of T:thumbup::thumbup:rue magazine today at the flea market. Was checking out the old ads this evening when I discovered a Camillus ad for the model 21. Even in the ad the company stressed how to pronounce the company name( Ka- MILL- us) . Ad stresses the model 21- most popular, quality pocket knife in America. Hand honed and hand stropped!
